9/1/02 - Timothy J. Stevens Fund
On September 23, 2001 The Stevens' lives were forever altered. On his way home from a day of golf, Timothy J Stevens was involved in a car accident that left him with the 5th and 6th vertebrae in his neck broken. As a result of his injuries, he was left paralyzed from the shoulders down. Slowly as his body began its healing process, Tim regained feeling in his arms and hands but unfortunately the doctor said nothing short of a miracle will make Tim walk again.
Tim leads a very active lifestyle, coaching his Beaverton Babe Ruth
All Star Baseball team to an unprecedented three consecutive appearances
in the World Series in 2000, 2001 and 2002.
No other Babe Ruth Baseball coach has achieved that distinction. This
year, Tim's team was undefeated through the State and Regional
tournaments and were the number one seeded team in the Babe Ruth World Series
before losing to El Segundo in the finals during a 17-11 slugfest.
