So, how do  you  make the message of wood product durability of interest to Radio listeners and prospective customers?

If you’re Lakeside Lumber, you create clever Radio advertising featuring characters people can relate to.

Both “Noah: and “Columbus” were at the center of recent Radio commercials that engagingly illustrated how Lakeside Lumber products withstand harsh elements.

In its newest commercial Lakeside Lumber pairs boxing legend Muhammad Ali and his favorite commentator, Howard Cosell, talking about Lakeside Lumber’s strength and beauty, while fighting off Mother Nature’s wrath of wind, heat and rain.

It’s a fun spot, and like its predecessors , it resonates with listeners.  

The members of the Portland Area Radio Council, comprised of the managers and general managers of the 24 leading commercial stations, selected the Ali and Cosell commercial for its Spot-of-the-Month winner for May.

“We’ve been doing Radio for about three years or so and boy, our sales have gone up 12-15% each year,” according to Luke Morley, marketing director for Lakeside Lumber. “Each year, more of our marketing budget goes to Radio because it’s working.”

The success has also led to the opening of a second location in Bend, which is also being supported by Radio advertising.
