4/07 - Lakeside Lumber donates materials for New Columbia re-development

With materials donated by Lakeside Lumber, Women Build began construction in April on a single-family home on North Dwight Avenue between Woolsey and Fessenden Street as part of the New Columbia re-development. This 82 acre, 60-year-old development is being rehabbed from the ground up - and Portland Habitat will build 15 of the 850+ housing units that are going into this new community.

Women Build is project-managed and built entirely by crews of women volunteers. The Women Build program empowers women of every race, age and skill level to plan and build a simple, decent, healthy and affordable home with an eligible family.
