Natural cedar is an excellent choice for Northwest homes. Cedar offers a timeless compliment to any architectural style from traditional to contemporary. We sell three grades of Western Red Cedar:

Clear
Board that is usually free of knots. Some lower grades of clear lumber will have minimal knots.

"A" Grade
A grading classification which refers to boards that are of a mixed grain, i.e. includes both flat and vertical grain.

Tight Knot
Knots are a portion of a branch or limb that has been incorporated into a board. A Tight Knot is a knot so fixed by growth, shape or position that it retains its place in the board.
