When you contact Lakeside Lumber, we will take you through these steps for a successful project:
2. Define the Project
Lakeside professionals can review your plans, answer questions, and make suggestions. We can also visit your home for a precise material measurement. This free service saves you time and eliminates the inconvenience of ordering insufficient or excess material.
3. Prepare Estimate
When you request a siding bid or request a decking bid a Lakeside carefully prepares a cost estimate. This estimate provides the basis for good customer communications. Referrals of reputable siding/decking contractors will be provided upon request.
4. Prime or Stain
Lakeside Lumber has the unique ability to prime or stain any of our real wood products on premises at our lumber yard. Each board is hand fed into a flood coating machine which saturates and then back brushes the board on all four sides.
Lakeside siding and trim products are available with a specially formulated Rodda Paint Co. Lakeside Primer. The primer is a premium quality, oil rich, alkyd primer for exterior siding and trim use. It is a stain resistant penetrating primer that provides excellent adhesion and hold out for finish coats. A Rodda Paint Company Lifetime Limited Warranty is available using Rodda Ultimate II or Cover Coat XL acrylic house paint, our recommended topcoat when applied in accordance with specific warranty guidelines. Ultimate II and Cover Coat Xl are Rodda Paint Company’s premium, 100% acrylic exterior paints.
In the event you prefer a more natural look, Lakeside has the ability to stain any of our products any color or brand you specify using the same flood coating process. It is a process that Lakeside has perfected over several decades. Our experienced sales staff is ready to help you decide which choice is right for you.
Please note: Color variations are common with any untreated wood product as some untreated boards may be darker than others. Unlike a solid body primer or top coat, applying a stain to raw wood will not have the effect of creating a uniform appearance for each board. Consequently, stained samples provided by Lakeside Lumber won’t be an identical match to every board in any subsequently placed order.
Prepriming and Prestaining Process
After our estimate gets your stamp of approval, we will establish delivery dates for your materials. In order to afford maximum protection during shipment, your siding or decking package will be assembled complete with bottom boards. During periods of inclement weather, your order will also be covered with Lakeside Lumber’s heavy duty plastic wrapping for protection against the elements during installation.
